Hi, y’all,
I’m getting close to the end of the 18 stories in my short story collection Corvairs and Horny Toads.
With the last three stories in sight now, I want to savor them even more. So, I’ll be sharing the last ones on a looser schedule.
All the stories are close to my heart, but the last three are special for particular reasons. I plan to leave you with a truly special final story on Mother’s Day.
I began writing these short stories as an homage to my mother and father and to the “home” of my memory. Dixon is a fictional place, but there are things and people—good and bad—that are inspired by my past. Things that shaped me, that I have carried with me.
It isn’t possible for me to express how fulfilling it is for me to share my stories in my voice in the exact way and style that suits me. It’s also an opportunity for a collaboration for Alan and me. Having him produce the podcast makes it especially meaningful and rewarding to us both. And your precious comments and the connections I’m making with you all have far exceeded my hopes.
Thanks again, y’all, and I’ll see you with the next story soon.
We can only hope that after the final three stories there will be more literary goodness to flow from your pen and your voice.
I will check out your work
