I had no idea what to expect in this short story based on the early childhood of Jody Shipes, renowned Texas civil rights lawyer and advocate for women. I was blown away by the lyrical tone, cadence and easy listening (the podcast was great) told in storybook form and read by the author. Loved it. Looking forward to more.
Jeanine, thank you so much. I hope you will enjoy the latest story, Ruby Are You Mad At Your Man. i am just so gratified to read your words. Isn't it just wonderful that we have found this platform to provide an outlet for our creative work and search for an audience and begin to find it-- like-minded people!
P.S. i have to figure one aspect of SS out about sending your page to my friends who are for all practical purposes, expats living in Mexico. I'm working on deadline to get some rewrites done and gonna record in a few days so i will tackle it soon. i want them to subscribe to your SS
Thanks for wanting your MX expat friends to see my stuff. Best place to find it is either my website: www.jeaninekitchel.com or right here on Substack: mexicosoul.substack.com as I plan to serialize my Mexican saga of buying land, building a house and opening a bookstore in a fishing village on Mexico's Caribbean coast. Gracias!!
Lucinda, Loved Episode 1 so much. I didn't know what to expect--was not sure initially, thought it was fiction and then - kaboom! Made it even more potent. Will email you w/ info etc. I thank your for your kind consideration of sending my posts to your MX amigos. Expect a long email manaña. And so great to meet you! Yes, Substack is one heavy duty mover and shaker. Love it!
I just loved this. I wanted to give great big hugs to a bunch of the characters!! Your storytelling is vivid and witty and tender and heartwrenching and heartwarming all at once! More more more please!
