Lucinda, my goodness how you can weave it all from a murder in Phoenix, to yellow watermelons, to "war war" one and two! Please tell me you are "Priscilla," and your daddy is "Ike." Another lovely short story...

Jane, I'm busted (happily). Yes, Priscilla, Ike and Jerry Dale are based on me, Daddy and Mama. Thank you so much for supporting Corvairs and Horny Toads. It started as a labor of love and to honor my family and the ripple effect is that it is providing Alan and I an opportunity to work together on a project (he is such a wonderful producer of it) and it is connecting me with so many wonderful, delightful people. Yakoke (Thank You)

Thank you for sharing your family story , Lucinda. Now I know… I’ve learned so much from this and it’s a story that needs more daylight. I had no idea about blood quantum. Even though you are slowly learning the language, your voice has so much power. Grateful for you!

Randy I knew this one would strike a special chord with you. It's a "mixed up bunch" of family you and I share. Grateful we've found each other and happy to share these memories with you, Cousin. Yakoke You can get to know your Blackwood 'kinfolk" better and better. Daddy passed memories along (Mama, too) to me so they would live on and on and be shared.

Well I’m pulling up to the Texaco, hopefully there’s no dead bodies, for a fill up of all these memories. Fill it up with Premium.

Well Priscilla, I mean Lucinda your story today really touches home. When I read and hear Oklahoma it gets my attention, but Pauls Valley is where I lived the first part of my life, now I’m all eyes and ears for more. The names have changed to protect the innocent. Yakoke for a visit through time, the Hohokam way of life, to riding the high plains in Ol’Red with Quanah Parker eating a Dilly Bar before it melts and gets everywhere all the way to Oklahoma in a young girl’s mind. Heartfelt story. Yakoke fehna hoke

As always, your stories are a skillful blend of depicted life, leavened with a healthy dose of actual history. Your people literally jump off the page and dance before my eyes as I share their very colorful lives with them. Many thanks.
