Thanks, Bill! West Texas never fails to turn from black and white to color when you tell the stories.

Related to Corvairs, Horny Toads, and Roy Orbison. Our lives did weave in and out of our musical roots. Liked the story and the reading of it!!

Thanks, Greg. Glad you are subscribing to Corvairs and Horny Toads. It is a culmination of years of work putting together a collection of short stories that contain kernels of truth, in fictional form, about experiences I had growing up in that big ol’ place, the Llano Estacado.

So sad. Loved all of the interwoven Roy Orbison lyrics.

Thank you, Jane.

I grew up not far from Wink, Texas. I can almost hear Roy Orbison's voice--ghostly, lonely, blowing across that landscape.

Full circle for some in Dixon, TX, with this podcast, Lucinda. And to include a murder mystery in the mix? Clever and fun for we listeners. Pondersome thoughts as well. Plus adding in Roy Orbison, whose "Pretty Woman" was my favorite song when I was a young teenager? Oh, you had me from the get-go. Loved this!

So glad to hear you liked this story. I just had to let Clarence come back and Roy Orbison? What an artist. If only I had the $$ to pay for song rights! hahaha

The twists, turns and action packed drama of drug stores, fast cars, pickups and honky-tonks intersecting with the house on Third Street and Avenue B. Through all the trauma and tragedy love whispers. Yakoke Lucinda for another entertaining story of your family life. Now we got a murder mystery.

WOW! First, the ubiquitous dug store soda fountain, then the re-appearance of Clarence, and finally Vera Van Camp's "revenge". What a story!
