My only comment is that not getting to meet Billy Jo in person is one of the true regrets of my life.

Hal you would have loved her, everyone did. What a spitfire, Texas badass, Lefty and Sweet on top of it. What did I ever do to deserve such fabulous parents?!

What a beautiful story about your mother and father and the loving life you all shared, Lucinda. You'd said in a comment after the original Jerry Dale post that it was 'close to home.' Very close indeed. How kind-hearted your parents were. So lovely, and I am sure you miss her daily. Thanks for this post.

Yakoke for all the pictures. Your Mom’s and Dad’s presence continues to fill you with bottomless love and precious memories inspiring you to write, tell your stories through Corvairs and Horny Toads with all the flavors from Powell Drugstore. We are moved and enriched by your life story. We still get to keep some of that fiction, it adds a lot of humor. Lucinda yakoke fehna hoke for sharing and continuing y’alls life through storytelling. My ears are smiling and asking for more.

The sweetest words, Susan. Thank you. And aren't we both lucky? So lucky to have the memories of our darling parents. I'm going to adopt the wonderful sentiment: may her memory be a blessing.
