The courthouse was built in the Pueblo Deco style, a riff on Art Deco that employed Pueblo and Navajo motifs. The squirrels performed rodent rituals in the shadow of a building that bore witness to the past and kept its secrets.
Oh my goodness, Lucinda! Thank you for coming back… this story is like diving into Ida’s bowl of candies and coming up with the jewel. It broke my heart to read it, but you’ve managed to find the sweetness and light in the cracks. So happy to have your voice guiding me along on my walks. Hurry up and get that next one out!!!
Pueblo Deco! Rodent rituals! Oh, Season 2 has begun with a flourish, Lucinda! I loved every second of it. Such great storytelling abilities you have. Can I still tell you I think you're like Eudora Welty -- but of Dixon, TX? Now I have to look up Pueblo Deco. I absolutely love the concept, along w/ your fabulous array of soulful characters.
Music to my ears, Jeanine! It thrills me to know you are so enthusiastic about this story (and in general about Corvairs and Horny Toads). I am flattered, grateful for you support and glowing words. Eudora Welty of Dixon, Texas/New Mexico? I'll take it! And, yes Pueblo Deco--who knew? Now we do and it is fabulous. Thank you
I so enjoy reading about the rich culture and the deliciously descriptive nature of every episode of Lucinda's sweet memories and imagination. I know Lucinda from a past actress/director relationship and knew then there were depths of talent and imagination left untouched. I'm glad to see all that surfacing. Keep up the good work. I can't wait for the next read (listen). The experience of hearing the words in your warm, loving accent brings added joy!
Fascinating fictional world, and this piece is a novel in miniature... many compelling layers and characters. Thank you!
Stephanie--what a compliment. Thank you so much.

A pleasure to listen to! You and Alan really bring it on. The images are great too.
Season 2 is here! My mind is balanced again. Beautiful as ever. Thanks Lucinda ( and Alan).
Yay. So pleased to read this, Matt.

Oh how I have missed the good people of Dixon. Thanks so much for their return!
